4th and 24th of July

I am such a bad mom and always forget to take a lot of pictures of Chris's firsts.  Since there are so few pictures, I figured I can combine the two holidays in one post.

In Zach's family, there is a tradition to build a snow man on the 4th of July.  It is such a fun tradition :)   This year we were so excited because we would have soo much snow...however, the Farmington Canyon was closed due to land slides and we couldn't go to our normal easy place.  They found a way up and had to wheel the snow from a half a mile away from where they could park the truck!  I think it was too much work, but I am glad they did it :)

These pictures are after Zach put snow on Chris's face.  You can see his in enthusiam :)

We have to wheel the snow from the truck to the building spot and then we build it up with the shovels.

Still building :)

Chris is starting to get excited to see his first snow man :)

This is a semi good one of how big his teeth are getting :)

Our little fam with Chris's first snow man.

The snow man in all its glory :)
It really is a fun tradition.  We have always been able to do it since I joined the family.  I hope that we always have enough snow in the winter so we don't have to skip out on the fun :)

For the 24th of July we went up to my parents house and went swimming in the afternoon (yes I forgot the camera).  Chris LOVES the water.  It was raining and a little cold, but once he got use to the water, he didn't want to get out :)   After a bbq we watched the Driveway of Fire!

Chris all dressed in his jammies ready to see some fireworks!

Having some fun with Aunt Sherry and Katelyn

Watching the fireworks!  He loved them.  He couldn't get enough.  When I tried to cover his eyes with the bright ones, or cover his ears with the loud ones he would ge soo mad and pull my hand down.  He was so fun to watch.

Hanging with mom :)

Zach trying to cover his eyes, he was trying to look arround his hand :)

You can see how tired he is in this picture, but he didn't want to go to sleep

soo...tired...but...have...to...keep...watching :)

He had soo much fun the entire time :)

Woo Hoo :)

I loved watching him have such a good time.  I was really worried that he wasn't going to like them :)

Owie :(

One morning, Chris was on our bed surrounded by pillows as always watching his Baby Signing Time.  I was in the kitchen getting my lunch put together so I could go to work, when I hear a big THUMP!!
I ran in the bedroom to see Chris on the floor!!  He was sooo sad :(

You can kindof see the red bump on his head in this picture.  It is the side closest to the bed.

Here is a good picture of how sad he was :(   He got the scratch under his eye (I have no idea what he hit) and it gave him a black eye.  He was such a trooper.  It didn't seem to bother him after he stopped crying initially.  I, however, was crying about it all day.  It is a good thing that he is too young to remember how bad of a mom I was.

Yellowstone!!

Every year we go to Yellowstone with my family.  It is soo much fun to get together with everyone :)   It was also Chris's first vacation!!

Our first stop is in Idaho Falls to eat at Smitty's :)   Then we go over and walk around the temple grounds.  It is a nice break from the car for a little while :)  Then grandma hands out the clipboards, and off we go :)

Our next stop is Big Springs.  We see the fish (which there wasn't any of this year) and walk to the Cabin there.

This is a look from Gibbon Falls.

Chris, just enjoying the ride :)

Us at the Gibbon Falls Outlook.

He was sooo tired.  It was only the 1st day, and he was already not liking the trip very much :(

Gibbon Falls

Michael slipped and fell on the rocks.  He was soo brave and didn't even cry!  I think I might have if my legs looked like this!

If you look in the distance, there is a mother bear and her cubs :)   These were the first of many in our trip this year!

Cute little family :)

Family picture at the sign on day 2 :)  Chris had a hard time looking at the camera because of all the cars passing by :)

At the fountain paint pots

Chris just enjoying the ride :)  It was soo funny that whenever he was in his stroller he wouldn't bend his legs.  He just stuck them straight out the entire time :)

At Old Faithfull

Having a good time with his new stuffed bear :)

Chris fell asleep on the way to our picnic area, and when he woke up he was sooo hot!  He loved to eat the icy water bottle :)

We got up and out early the next day in hopes to see one of these :)   This is on the road to Mammoth.

Mammoth Hot Springs.  This picture doesn't realy do it justice though :)

Chris and I enjoying the walk down to the bottom

Loving the ride :)

He doesn't look very happy, but he really loved going on walks in his backpack :)

I really do love this spot.  I love to think about what it looked like in its prime :)

Tower Falls

This is a better picture if his legs.  It was SOO funny :)

Yet another bear :)   I think total we saw about 10 bears.  It was amazing!

We were parked by a snow drift and when I looked out my window and saw this :)  Nice bear foot print :)

Chris looking at the water fall at Upper Falls.  He loved watching the water go over the falls.

Just hanging out at Upper Falls :)

Kimmy wanted to ride with us.  She was being soo cute with Chris.  She even helped him finish his clip board :)

I love my family soo much and love this tradition.
